What is Our Robotic Experience?

We are the most experienced and prolific surgeons in North Alabama which according to medical literature improves patient outcomes. We typically perform 2-3 robotic surgeries per week. We are one of only a few centers that has an individual surgeon who is trained to utilize robotic surgery for male, female and pediatric patients.

Dr. Sharpe

 

 
Dr. Brent A. Sharpe
Dr. Brent A. Sharpe received his bachelors degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1994. After obtaining his Medical Degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine in 2000, he completed a surgical internship at Texas Tech University, where he worked under Dr. Bernard Mittemeyer whose prostatectomy technique is the basis of today’s robotic prostatectomy.
 
Dr. William E. Hughes
Dr. William E. Hughes, received his undergraduate degree in applied physics from Auburn University in 1973, and was commissioned as a naval officer. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama in 1984, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society.
